About Pamela Chogo
Ms Pamela Chogo is a Lecturer and researcher in Information Technology from the Institute of Accountancy Arusha, Tanzania. She has over 15 years of experience facilitating various Information Technology, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation courses. Furthermore, Ms Pamela is an innovation enthusiast, being a startup lead, a coach, and a mentor. With these qualities, she manages the incubator at the Institute of Accountancy Arusha, known as the Institute of Accountancy Arusha Business Startup Centre (IBSUC). In addition to this, Ms. Pamela is a PhD candidate at the Nelson Mandela African Institute of Science and Technology where her area of study is Information and Communication Science and Engineering. Her PhD research is focused on the application of Artificial Intelligence specifically Natural Language processing in agriculture knowledge sharing. Through her research work Ms. Pamela has managed to publish various articles in local and international journals. She has also managed to present at various local and international conferences including the UbuntuNet Connect 2021, UbuntuNet Connect 2022, the Tanzania Annual ICT Conference (TAIC) 2019 and 2023, the Tanzania IGF 2023, the Global IGF 2023, and the Science, Technology, and Innovation Conference and Exhibition (STICE) 2023 where she got awarded as the best presenter. Ms. Pamela is very passionate about what she does and she uses her spare time volunteering as the General Secretary of the Internet Society Tanzania Chapter and mentoring girls in STEM. Ms. Pamela has been involved in various digital inclusion projects including the 2024 WSIS award-winning project known as TADIPS. In addition, Ms. Pamela is the founder and chairperson of Chanya Change an NGO focused on empowering youth and women. Ms. Pamela is also a book author having published two books “Timiza ndoto na malengo yako” and “Safari ya Malaika".
