Smartphones, social media, internet in general are provoking high rates of ADHD development.

People with ADHD tend to have lower dopamine levels than people without ADHD, that is why they are in a constant look out for quick pleasures, they switch from one thing to another because they aren't content enough. They aren't recieving enough dopamine from this or that outcome. In social media, such as TIK- TOK, Instagram or snapchat, somthing similar happens with our dopamine too, they provide us with quick short-term releases of dopamine which keeps us engaged, however social media is becoming faster and faster in the way they portray it.
The release of dopamine via social media as I said, is a short term satisfaction but in the long term it dipleats our levels of dopamine more than we can imagine. This can affect concentration levels, short term memory and I believe that hyperactivity aswell. We don't know how to be bored anymore, and this produces hyperactivity in many dependant people when they don't have their phones with them. These symptoms are the same symptoms that people with ADHD suffer: ATTENTION DEFFICIT, HIPERACTIVITY DISORDER. In the recent year many high rates of adolescents are being diagnosed with ADHD. I believe that there is a direct link with smartphones and social media.
