Tanzania's President, Samia Suluhu Hassan, held discussions with Mozambique's President, Daniel Francisco Chapo, ahead of the 38th Ordinary Session of the African Union (AU) Heads of State and Government Summit. The meeting took place at the Nelson Mandela Hall, located at the AU Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia today 15 February 2025.

This summit, running from 12 to 16 February 2025, is centred on the theme "Justice for Africans and People of African Descent Through Reparations," highlighting the AU's dedication to addressing historical injustices.

In addition to the reparations agenda, the summit is addressing pressing security concerns, notably the ongoing conflict in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. The AU aims to facilitate dialogue between the warring parties to prevent further regional destabilization.
