Ali Kiba, also known as King Kiba, is a renowned Tanzanian musician and songwriter. Born on November 29, 1986, in Iringa, Tanzania, Kiba is the eldest son of Saleh Omari and Tombwe Njere.¹ ² He has three siblings, including a brother, Abdu Kiba, who is also a musician.
Kiba's music career began after completing his 12th-grade exams in 2004. His debut song, "Maria," showcased his talent and made him one of the most promising young artists in Tanzania at the time. In 2005, he chose music over a soccer offer from a Ugandan team, focusing on singing and composing.
Kiba's rise to fame was swift, with his debut album and hit single "Cinderella" becoming the biggest-selling record in East Africa in 2008. He has since released several successful albums and singles, collaborating with top artists like R. Kelly, Patoranking, and Sauti Sol.
